Frank E. Reid focuses on all aspects of intellectual property law including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret with an emphasis on joint development, licensing, and technology cost sharing arrangements. His areas of technical focus include chemical, mechanical, and business methods.
Frank worked for 14 years in technical and management assignments related to all aspects of petrochemical refining operations for Exxon Corporation. Frank obtained his Juris Doctorate and passed the Patent Bar and Texas State Bar examinations during the later years in refining, after which he transferred to the Law Department of Exxon (later ExxonMobil). For 25 years, Frank served as patent counsel for numerous business groups within the Chemicals and Upstream divisions of Exxon, with responsibility for advising clients having a variety of business models in general IP strategies and assisted in implementing those strategies through patent procurement, agreement negotiation related to the development and licensing of technology, and freedom-to-operate analysis.
Frank is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
