Arthur J. Steiner is a former partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. His practice focuses on client consulting in all phases of patent preparations and prosecution, including appellate practice before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, preparation of opinions, litigation support, and expert witnessing. Mr. Steiner has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in various technologies, including semiconductor fabrication, recording media, medical devices, optical fibers, and petroleum refining. Mr. Steiner served for 15 years as an Administrative Patent Judge on the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 

During his tenure, Mr. Steiner decided thousands of appeals involving a broad spectrum of technologies, and was awarded the Department of Commerce Gold Medal in 1987 for Distinguished Achievement in the Federal Service. Mr. Steiner is admitted to practice in New York, Maryland and the District of Columbia, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
